Innovation Direct™ inventor’s personal medical accessory recipient of initial interest from Florida-based company…
Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with a report on an Innovation Direct™ inventor product idea receiving interest from a manufacturer. The subject on this occasion is a personal medical accessory that has caught the eye of a Florida-based company specializing in a variety of product categories.
This situation was initiated when the inventor contacted the principal of the company late last week via e-mail regarding his concept. The gentleman expressed an interest in learning more about the invention and accordingly, the Innovation Direct™ representative managing the situation forwarded him the preliminary, non-confidential information available on the invention yesterday afternoon. After reviewing that material, the company representative stated that he would be interested in signing a non-disclosure agreement in order to be able to view the detailed design information on the invention.
The only potential stumbling block at this stage is that the company has requested a non-disclosure agreement that has language that specifically protects the trade secrets and business practices they may share during the evaluation of the idea. The Innovation Direct™ representative did respond to the company principal by sending him the non-disclosure agreement currently utilized by Innovation Direct™ and also informed him that we would be glad to work together to modify the document or review a version of an NDA they may have within their company that contains the language they are seeking.
This is obviously a situation in flux and as such, we expect it to continue to unfold. As soon as we have any new developments we will bring you the details, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog. Check in frequently!
