Innovation Direct™ enjoys successful day of participation at International Home and Housewares Show 2009…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with an update on our initial day of participation at the International Home and Housewares Show 2009 at the McCormick Place in Chicago. Our trade show contingent reports that despite a weakened economy, this year’s proceedings appear to be as well attended as past editions of the event, and the official numbers on both exhibitors and new products appear to bear that out.

As per show statistics, there are 400 new exhibitors populating the halls of the McCormick Place this year, and a combined 10,000 new products are being featured during the three days of the event. In a March 2nd entry, we had reported on the expected success of this year’s Housewares Show (“Innovation Direct™ looks forward to participation in International Home and Housewares Show 2009…“), and things appear to be more than living up to their billing so far.

Our representatives have already personally dialogued with a number of exhibitors about our Innovation Direct To Industry™ program. Companies present range from one-product outfits that are staffed by a handful of employees, to multi-billion dollar corporations. Accordingly, manufacturers our colleagues have spoken to have ranged from a small household products operation receptive to reviewing inventions that has been in business for 15 years to Sharper Image, a worldwide leader in catalog sales of innovative yet functional gadgets and accessories.
