Update: Innovation Direct™ kicks off Tuesday with an Innovation Direct To Industry™ follow-up frenzy…

Good morning, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first report of the day. Tuesday morning has been replete with follow-up attempts with several companies that have recently received Innovation Direct To Industry™ packages. In all, 4 different manufacturers were sent e-mails this morning by the Innovation Direct™ representatives managing their Innovation Direct To Industry™ accounts.

The manufacturer with the longest overdue feedback is a California-based infomercial outfit that we had most recently reported on in a June 13th entry (“Innovation Direct™ seeks update from California-based infomercial powerhouse on Innovation Direct To Industry™ package sent last August…“). As stated in that posting, the company had originally received preliminary, non-confidential information on 11 Innovation Direct™ inventor product ideas on the last day of August 2007. Despite numerous attempts to obtain some sort of definitive response from the company since that point, we have not been able to successfully extract closure from this situation. The e-mail sent this morning was addressed to the latest member of the new products department within the company to be handed the materials, and we are hopeful of receiving a response soon.

Staying on the West Coast and the state of California in particular, the second company that was the target of follow-up correspondence today was another infomercial company that had been a fellow exhibitor of Innovation Direct™ at the 2008 International Home and Housewares Show. We had most recently reported on this company in a June 20th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ seeks update from California-based infomercial company regarding 15 inventions contained in initial Innovation Direct To Industry™ package…“) We are seeking feedback from this manufacturer on the preliminary, non-confidential information sent to them regarding 15 Innovation Direct™ inventor product ideas on April 1st.

The third entity is the Texas-based infomercial company that recently joined our Innovation Direct To Industry™ program, and that we had most recently reported on in a June 24th entry (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives signed non-disclosure agreement from Texas-based Innovation Direct To Industry™ company; access to detailed design information on 3 inventions sent…“). As we’d explained in that posting, the manufacturer had originally been sent preliminary, non-confidential information on 20 items overall and had narrowed down their interest to 3 of them. Accordingly, a non-disclosure agreement encompassing the trio of inventions had been executed shortly thereafter, and the access to the detailed design information for those ideas was sent the afternoon of the 24th.

Last but not least, the fourth company is the Massachusetts-based hardware products manufacturer that became a part of our Innovation Direct To Industry™ program in March and that was sent their second batch of Innovation Direct™ inventor product ideas overall on June 24th, a fact that we reported on in an entry that same day (“Update: Innovation Direct™ sends 12 invention Innovation Direct To Industry™ package to Massachusetts-based hardware products company…“). We are awaiting our contact’s impressions of the preliminary, non-confidential information on 12 Innovation Direct™ inventor product concepts that constituted this latest package.

As customary, we will update you in detail as we receive replies to our requests for updates, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog. Check in often!
