Update: Innovation Direct™ receives results of legal analysis regarding tool product that is subject of exclusive developmental agreement; interested manufacturer provided with copy of findings…
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a relevant update regarding a tool invention from the Innovation Direct™ roster. Following up on a situation we had most recently reported on in a May 1st entry (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives signed exclusive developmental agreement on tool invention from New Hampshire-based Innovation Direct To Industry™ company…“), Innovation Direct™ has received the results of an patent infringement analysis performed by an independent registered patent attorney involving a tool invention from our roster.
The request for an analysis stemmed from a New Hampshire-based manufacturer’s advanced level of interest in the product idea, which had already resulted in an exclusive developmental agreement being signed. As part of the due diligence the manufacturer wanted to perform during this developmental period, they had requested that an existing patent they were aware of be compared to the current design of the Innovation Direct™ inventor’s product idea to make sure that there was no infringement of the already protected design.
As per the e-mail communication received from the patent attorney, the Innovation Direct™ inventor’s product idea does not infringe on the existing patent that the manufacturer was concerned with. The independent patent attorney provided a 7 page analysis of the matter along with his e-mail, and this has already been forwarded to the interested company for review.
We now await their impressions and are certainly hopeful that these findings will constitute the removal of a potentially deal-breaking stumbling block. As soon as we receive any feedback from the potential licensee of this item we will bring you the details, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog. Check back frequently!
