Update: Innovation Direct™ receives unexpected e-mail from former principal of India-based manufacturer that had previously expressed interest in sports accessory; licensing discussions for invention may be reinitiated…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time regarding a very busy start to our week. Earlier Monday, the Innovation Direct™ representative that had managed the advanced level of interest displayed by an India-based company for over a year in a sporting goods accessory from our roster received an unexpected communication from the former principal of the firm. We’d last reported on this particular manufacturer way back in a March 20th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ sends e-mail to India-based sporting goods manufacturer notifying them of inventor’s intentions to seek other licensees…“).

As per the communication received, the aforementioned gentleman left the company after a re-structuring and how now started his own outfit, also specializing in the manufacturing and marketing of sporting goods. Accordingly, our colleague responded to the gentleman’s e-mail, which incidentally, did not refer at all to the previous history with the invention, by inquiring as to why the product idea had been abandoned after a licensing proposal had been sent. Innovation Direct™’s hope is that we will get a response indicating that the gentleman would be interested in reopening discussions regarding the product now that he has full control of matters.

We will certainly continue to keep you updated on the unfolding of this rather surprising development, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog. Check back with us often!
