Update: Innovation Direct™ sends e-mail with new deadline for response to India-based sporting goods manufacturer…
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on a situation we had last reported on in a February 27th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives response from India-based company regarding 48 hour deadline given; further response expected next week…“). Late Monday evening, the Innovation Direct™ representative that has been managing the long-standing advanced level of interest displayed in a sporting goods accessory from our roster by an India-based company sent the manufacturer an e-mail letting them know they had a 48 hour deadline within which to confirm whether or not they still had intentions of further discussing the possibility of a licensing agreement for the invention.
As we’d explained in the posting alluded to above, we had sent the manufacturer a licensing proposal in December 2008 after they had confirmed they were prepared to review such a document. We had then attempted to follow up with them on several occasions early in 2009, but had not received so much as a brief response to any of our efforts. At the request of the inventor, we had subsequently sent an e-mail in late February letting the company president know he had 48 hours to respond and indicate whether his company retained any interest in the invention. On February 27th, we had received a reply from a colleague of the president informing us he was presently out of the country but would be responding shortly. With over 2 weeks having passed since that correspondence, Monday’s e-mail and a new deadline became a necessity.
We are still holding out hope of moving forward with this company, but only the next 2 days will tell what direction we will go in. Join us here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog for any and all updates!
