Update: Innovation Direct™ conducts successful phone call with Fitness Quest executive; initial package of inventions to be put together soon…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back with a follow-up on a situation we’d just reported on in an entry yesterday (“Innovation Direct receives response from Fitness Quest regarding post-Home and Housewares Show Innovation Direct To Industry™ e-mail campaign; follow-up conversation to possibly take place tomorrow…“). Earlier Wednesday, the Innovation Direct™ representative that will be managing the account of Ohio-based Fitness Quest, Inc. engaged in a scheduled phone conversation with one of the executives in the company regarding how our companies can work together.

Topics discussed during the call included the confidentiality policies of Fitness Quest, Inc., their product category preferences, and the level of development they ideally would prefer to see in the inventions submitted to them. With regards to non-disclosure agreements, it was learned during the conversation that the company prefers to utilize their version of a confidentiality agreement when reviewing intellectual property. Immediately following the call, the Fitness Quest, Inc. representative sent our colleague a copy of the agreement via e-mail, and the document was promptly found to contain terms acceptable to Innovation Direct™.

Also with respect to the confidentiality issue, the company contact agreed to speak with his legal department to explore the possibility of having a “permanent” version of their non-disclosure agreement executed so as to allow Innovation Direct™ to send them access to detailed design information on inventions right from the onset. While awaiting their verdict on that issue, which could take several days, an initial Innovation Direct To Industry™ package will be put together for their review.
