Innovation Direct™ inventor’s school supply invention subject of initial interest from renowned Ohio-based manufacturer; non-disclosure agreement sent…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time on a busy Tuesday with a report on yet another invention being the recipient of initial interest from a manufacturer. This time it is a school supply-related concept that has captured the attention of a renowned Ohio-based company that has been making, marketing, and distributing these types of products for over 60 years, according to their official website.

The company’s awareness about the invention was prompted by the inventor herself, who had e-mailed them several days ago to inquire about their policies regarding the submission of inventions to their company. She had received a response from the Vice President of Research and Development, who had requested any preliminary, non-confidential information available first. This request had been forwarded to Innovation Direct™, and the representative managing the situation promptly sent the company contact the requested materials, along with a non-disclosure agreement.

As explained to the manufacturer representative via e-mail, the non-disclosure will need to be signed if the company finds the non-confidential materials they will review of sufficient interest so as to warrant a request for more information. We are certainly hopeful that they will eventually elect to review detailed design information on the item and will continue to keep you posted on any developments, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog.
