Update: Innovation Direct™ receives feedback from newest Innovation Direct To Industry™ company on 10 inventions reviewed…
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in once again with another Innovation Direct To Industry™-related update. In an April 18th posting, we had reported that the latest company to join our Innovation Direct To Industry™ program, a New Hampshire-based manufacturer of industrial tools, had expressed an interest in learning more about all 10 of the inventions included in their initial package (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives signed non-disclosure agreement for 10 inventions from latest Innovation Direct To Industry™ company; detailed design information sent this afternoon…“). Accordingly, after a non-disclosure agreement encompassing all of the concepts had been signed, they had been sent access to the detailed design information available for each idea.
Earlier Tuesday, our contact at the company had informed us that after reviewing those details, they retained further interest in 1 out of the 10 products. At the same time, they expressed concern that the current design of the concept as proposed by the inventor may be in conflict with an existing patent. Innovation Direct™ has already responded to the manufacturer and offered to have an independent registered patent attorney conduct an analysis of the existing patent’s claims and the product idea’s current design to determine whether the inventor will need to make some changes in order to avoid violating existing patent rights.
We now await the company’s response and will certainly keep you abreast of this developing situation, here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog. Stay with us!
