Update: Innovation Direct™ set to ship prototype of instructional sports accessory to potential licensee…
Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in for a second and final time on a Thursday. Earlier Thursday, Innovation Direct™ prepared to ship the final version of a professionally designed prototype of an instructional sports accessory to an India-based company that signed an exclusive developmental agreement for the invention back in June 2007 and that had requested the creation of the prototype in the first place. We had most recently reported on this situation back in an April 14th entry (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives digital photos of revised prototype of sports accessory from developer; physical sample already on its way…“).
Subsequent to that posting, Innovation Direct™ had received the revised sample of the invention from the developer and had shipped it to the inventor for review. The inventor had been very pleased with the work completed and had shipped it back to Innovation Direct™ in order for us to send it to the potential licensee. That will actually transpire tomorrow, and we will then await the company’s feedback and hopefully, a communication from them indicating they would like to enter into licensing negotiations for the concept.
According to the company’s official website, they boast export relationships with 13 countries, including the U.S., and have been in business for 38 years. We are certainly excited at the prospects that a licensing agreement with them would bring for the invention and remain optimistic that their current interest will culminate in licensing success, but only time will tell.
