Update: Innovation Direct™ receives confirmation of receipt of cleaning accessory prototype and demonstation DVD; patent application information may also be forwarded…
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, chiming in once again, this time with an update on a situation we had last reported on in a February 26th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ receives signed exclusive developmental licensing agreement from Florida-based manufacturer for cleaning accessory; prototypes and demonstration DVD to be sent by inventor tomorrow…“). Earlier Thursday, the Innovation Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct To Industry™ account of the Florida-based cleaning products company that was the subject of that entry received an e-mail confirmation from the firm’s president that he had received the prototypes and demonstration DVD of a cleaning accessory they had signed an exclusive developmental licensing agreement for. The materials had been requested by the manufacturer from the inventor last week after they had executed the document.
As per the correspondence, the company is somewhat concerned by what they term the “rough” nature of the prototypes, which are admittedly home-made samples. Consequently, the company felt that they wanted to examine the inventor’s patent application first-hand if possible, in order to get a feel for how strong an intellectual property position the product idea could potentially have if and when a patent is granted. This information was relayed to the inventor, who promptly informed the company that his patent attorney would be glad to speak to them regarding the matter and would also likely provide them with a copy of the graphics put together for the application if necessary.
This situation is obviously in flux and as such, will certainly warrant future updates. Join us here on the Innovation Direct™ Blog for the latest!
