Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update regarding our follow-up efforts with National Hardware Show 2009 exhibitors. In an entry earlier today (“Innovation Direct™ contacts 13 additional National Hardware Show 2009 exhibitors through Innovation Direct To Industry™ e-mail campaign…“), we had reported on today’s batch of Innovation Direct To Industry™ e-mails sent to participants of the event. We are pleased to report that late Thursday afternoon, one of those 13 companies, Bossco International, LLC, responded to our correspondence.

As per the e-mail reply received from the manufacturer, they are interested in reviewing tool and lighting products at this time, but only if they are already in patent pending status or the subject of a granted utility patent only. As the company representative went on to explain, they have adopted this policy to safeguard themselves against a variety of intellectual property-related concerns and headaches.

We responded to the gentleman by explaining to him that we would certainly keep an eye out for inventions that met his stated criteria but at the present time, the majority of concepts we represented were unpatented.
