Update: Innovation Direct™ receives update from industry partner regarding potential licensing of pool accessory…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, chiming in with one more update to close out the week. Late Friday afternoon, the Innovation Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct To Industry™ account of our West Coast-based industry partner received an update from him via e-mail regarding the pending licensing agreement for a pool accessory from our roster expected to be signed by a Canadian company he does business with. We had most recently reported on this ongoing situation in an April 17th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ follows up with West Coast-based industry partner regarding possible licensing agreement for pool accessory…“).

As we had explained in that entry, the manufacturer had indicated to our industry colleague that they still had intentions of licensing the invention. As per the e-mail forwarded Friday afternoon by our industry partner, the company representative is now telling him that they have had to redesign the item several times in order to keep their costs down, and are awaiting the third overall prototype they have ordered from their factory overseas in order to test out the product and see if it is ready to be presented to major retailers and other buyers.
