Update: Innovation Direct™ requests, receives further clarification on future direction to be taken by Florida-based manufacturer with cleaning accessory…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our latest update. Following up on a situation we’d most recently reported about in an April 10th posting (“Update: Innovation Direct™ inventor’s patent attorney speaks to Florida-based manufacturer regarding cleaning accessory; further discussion to continue next week…“), the Innovation Direct™ representative that has been managing the advanced level of interest displayed by a Florida-based manufacturer in a cleaning accessory from our roster sent an e-mail communication earlier Monday the president of the company requesting clarification on exactly what direction the manufacturer planned to take going forward with this invention.

As we’d explained in the aforementioned entry, the manufacturer had conversed with the inventor’s patent attorney on Friday regarding a component he’d found that would be part of the inventor’s product if he were to make it, and had wanted to ask the attorney his opinion on whether or not the similar item he found would potentially present a problem in relation to the design the inventor was attempting to protect. As per the response received today from the company, they have decided not to go any further with the concept, as in their opinion, the similar component they found presents too much of a risk in their minds.

While certainly respecting the company’s decision, Innovation Direct™ also has an opinion on the matter that slightly differs from theirs, and we will likely be presenting the company with that line of thinking in the coming days. For the time being however, our colleague that has been managing the situation has reached out to the inventor to solicit his view on how to respond to the manufacturer’s communication.

Stay tuned to the Innovation Direct™ Blog for future updates to this still developing matter!
